How The College Board Accommodates Everyone At Their SAT Testing Locations

SAT testing locations are numerous and varied, as they will need to be, given that applicants for college courses come from all parts of the country, and even from overseas. The locations are usually found in an educational building, although it may not be part of a college campus during the normal working week. As SAT tests take place on a Saturday, it is really not that important what the building is used for during the week, although an educational establishment is likely to have facilities which can be naturally adapted.

A SAT testing center will be able to accommodate both the standard SAT test, and any number of SAT Subject Tests. You can register to take the test, and don't need to give any special notification of extra tests. This is because all of the tests are included in the same College Board book. You can take extra tests beyond the ones you have paid for, but if you do the results will not be disclosed to you until the appropriate fee has been paid.

The SAT test locations can accommodate and of the different SAT Subject Tests, but the tests based at a school will need to be notified in advance to make sure the correct paperwork is taken to the facility. So much can now be done using the College Board online facility, for which you only have to register once to gain access. Even the ticket you will need for admission to the SAT test center can be obtained online and then printed off. This saves the College Board money in not having to send a ticket through the post, and these savings can be passed on to you.

Of course, matters are slightly more complicated for students registering from abroad, but even in this case there are relatively simple procedures laid down. In the case of an overseas applicant, everything needs to be carried out either through the post or online. The comprehensive online facility which the College Board has developed makes it easy for overseas students to compete for places.

The facility is also designed to cater for people with special needs, such as those of a religion which does not accept Saturday testing, and those with a disability. If you do not want to be tested on a Saturday for religious reasons, you can apply to be tested on a Sunday. There is no automatic requirement for this, but it is extremely unusual for permission not to be granted. In the case of a disability, you can rest assured that the College Board will do everything it can to accommodate you to the best of their ability. The College Board has always taken the trouble to liaise with the disability associations, and make sure that the necessary amendments are made to the SAT testing locations.
